broke away their chains.   Psalm 107:14

History/Mission/Vision

History

The Idaho Chaplains Corps, Inc. (ICC) was established in 1992.  Driven by a common vision to enhance the statewide coordination and support of prison and jail ministry volunteers, a group of committed individuals from southern Idaho joined with the existing North Idaho Chaplains Corps to form the ICC.

The ICC is available to serve the church in its call to “go to those in prison.”  We operate much like a mission organization:  screening, training, supporting and sending out those whom God has called to take the “Good News” to the prison mission field

Mission of the Idaho Chaplains Corps

To restore the power of Jesus Christ to broken lives.

Vision of the Idaho Chaplains Corps

To identify, equip, place, and support the persons God has called to minister the Gospel to the hurting in our communities.

Objectives of the Idaho Chaplains Corps

To work with churches as a parachurch organization offering pastoral care and faith-based ministry to those in crisis and those working in crisis fields.

Develop a network for sharing information and resources among ICC members and the administrators they serve.

Implement Chaplaincy ministry in communities where none exist, and encourage such ministry where existing.

Provide training and educational material, and to oversee religious volunteers in the communities they serve.

Community Care Network

In 2005, the Idaho Chaplains Corps expanded their vision and created the Community Care Network to help serve the needs of the local community.

The Mission of the Community Care Network is to bring healing and restoration to those who labor is crisis fields, and those in crisis.

We understand that working in traumatic situations can destroy a person’s ability to perform their job with efficiency if not dealt with.  We are dedicated to bringing trained persons to those serving in crisis fields such as law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical, search and rescue, emergency management and correctional occupations.

We strive to connect resources to communities that will address the stress issues caused by crisis work.  We will bring to those communities, professional, responsive, compassionate and caring service.
